Consultation Terms
Please be advised that no attorney/client relationship is established with our firm or any attorney in our firm until or unless we are formally hired to represent you in a specific legal matter.
The following must be completed in order to formally hire our firm and create an attorney/client relationship: 1) our firm must expressly agree to provide representation on your behalf in a specific matter, 2) you must review, sign, and return our Representation and Fee Agreement, which is subject to our review and express acceptance at the time of our receipt, and 3) you must pay the requested advance fee deposit. Until we are formally hired, you should not expect that our firm or any attorney in our firm will take any action on your behalf with respect to your legal matter.
Initial Consultation Meetings
An initial consultation meeting between you and an attorney in our firm held prior to formally hiring us to represent you in a specific matter does not create an attorney/client relationship with the attorney or the firm, including an initial consultation meeting for which a fee is paid for the attorney’s time. The relationship you have with our firm or an attorney in our firm for purposes of an initial consultation meeting is that of a Prospective Client as defined under RPC 1.18. As such, the purpose of scheduling and attending an initial consultation meeting is to discuss the possibility of forming an attorney/client relationship.
Any comments made or opinions provided by the attorney at an initial consultation meeting, any follow-up to that meeting, and prior to establishing an attorney-client relationship are necessarily of a preliminary nature and will therefore require additional study and review before any actions can or should be taken in reliance on such preliminary comments or opinions.
